Interpersonal Therapy

Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT) is based on helping a person to understand their emotions and how to deal with them adaptively.   This can be especially beneficial in decreasing depressed and anxious thoughts and feelings.

Interpersonal Psychotherapy has been proven as an effective treatment for the following:

  • Bipolar disorder
  • Eating Disorders
  • Post-natal depression
  • Major depressive disorder
  • Anxiety
  • Grief management 


IPT for adolescents can help with 

  • Grief after the loss of a loved one 
  • Conflict in significant relationships
  • Difficulties adapting to changes in relationships or life circumstances 
  • Difficulties stemming from social isolation


IPT for life changes in one’s later years:

IPT has been used as a psychotherapy for addressing interpersonally relevant problems and life changes that many people experience in their later years.
