Dialectic Behaviour Therapy

Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) is a form of psychotherapy that assists with emotional regulation and to treat people with difficult feelings that are destructive in their lives.

DBT assists with distress tolerance, anger management, boredom and chronic loneliness, and unstable relationships.

Research has demonstrated the effectiveness of DBT.  DBT is also effective in improving symptoms and behaviors associated with spectrum mood disorders, including self-injury.  Recent work suggests its effectiveness with sexual abuse survivors and chemical dependency.
