PhD (Psychopharmacology), MAPS
Malini has over 12 years professional experience in both the public and private sectors in New South Wales and Victoria. She has clinical training in mental health disorders using a bio-psychosocial model for care and management of patients.
Malini's clinical practice focuses on the role of neural mechanisms in depression, obesity, post-traumatic stress, psycho-oncology, developmental disabilities, addiction, and anxiety disorders in adult mental health. She has a keen interest in mindfulness training for individual and group sessions. Her recent clinical focus includes developing resilience and mindfulness from a strength-based approach in treatment of clinical disorders. Malini works from a client-centered model with individual treatment plans to maximise recovery and relapse prevention.
Malini has been practicing in the Western suburbs since 2006 and has established a sound reputation for psychological services. She works closely with referrers that include GPs, psychiatrists, paediatricians, parents, schools, and public services.
Malini's therapy interests include:
1) Children and Adolescents: One of the keys areas of expansion is to provide children and adolescents therapy and assessment services at our Hoppers Crossing rooms.
Our children and family friendly focus has been received very positively by parents and service providers.
2) Couples counselling: In modern life relationships face numerous challenges.
We provide a confidential and empthatic environment for couples to resolve differences and strengthen their relationships.
It is also an important forum for couples who are separating or famlies in transition.
3) Psychotherapy for adults: Psychological treatment is aimed at individual treatment plans to maximise recovery and relapse prevention.
Malini's special interest is in the role of neural mechanisms in depression, obesity, developmental disabilities, trauma, and anxiety disorders.

Malini has completed over 10,000 sessions since working in the Western suburbs covering a range of issues that children, adults, and families face in their daily lives.
